Five Fashion Trends for Back to School 2012
1. CAP-TOE HEELS & FLATS
This trend puts a casual yet classic spin on just about any outfit.Cap-toe shoes have a round shaped color block at the toe, and some have another color blocking at the heel.Nude and black cap toe flats are a must for fall, and one of the most versatile trend pieces you can add to your back to school wardrobe. When styling them, think Lauren Conrad; they go great with dark denim skinny jeans, a delicate blouse, and a tailored blazer.Or just about anything else.

2. STUDDED LOAFERS
Another great back to school shoe trend is that of the studded loafer. Loafers have been pretty hot for a while now, and comfy too. But some styles can come across as a little too stuffy. But that's something no one can say about a studded loafer; the all over studs give it plenty of edge and trend appeal. Look for a black pair of loafers with silver or gun metal colored studs, or if you're really feeling flashy, a pair of white loafers with gold studs. Pair these with pieces that are feminine with a twist, like a pleated leather mini-skirt.

3. PRINTED PANTS
This trend truly took off earlier this year whenfashion bloggers started sporting a pair of H&M floral pants. This trend in particular can be intimidating, but it always makes a strong statement.Look for a pair with tailored, sleek seams and stay away from any that are form fitted or too baggy; a carrot silhouette is best on most figures.Pair it with high heels and keep it it simple on top.

4. BAROQUE DETAILS
The baroque trend will be huge come fall, but it’s not always the easiest trend to pull off, for a few reasons.A lot of different styles fall under the baroque umbrella, and it’s not always the easiest trend to work into a casual look. Also, a lot of baroque styles tend to be a bit expensive because of the construction techniques needed. But don’t despair; like any other trend it’s entirely possible to pull this look off on a budget. The key is to look for baroque prints on cotton t-shirts or polyester blouses. You can also get this look by adding baroque jewelry to basic pieces. Also, keep an eye out for heavy laces and metallic embroidery.

5. SUMMER TRENDS TO SAVE
Some summer trends carry over perfectly into fall and are totally school appropriate.Definitely hold on to your open shoulder tees; they’re the perfect basic piece with a twist. Colored capri’s and skinny jeans are a must for fall as well, especially if they’re mint green or jewel tones.Nude flats are another great item that carries over well from Spring and Summer into winter.Unlike white, nude is not seasonal and matches well with cool and warm tones; in other words, it’s uber versatile, so make the most out of it.

6. SUMMER TRENDS TO TRASH
Stash those bralette tops away for next summer; most school dress codes will not allow them, and even the most creative fashionista can’t layer them in a flattering manner.Same goes with high-waist hot pants and floral printed or studded cut-offs; these looks don’t translate well for cooler weather.
