We are just weeks away from the official start of spring, thank goodness, it's been a long hard winter.
That also means that summer will be fast approaching.
Do you hear the call of your swimsuit? How are you feeling about putting one on? Will you be ready for that first day at the beach, or do you have a spring vacation planned and that day is coming sooner than you would like.
TV infomercials and magazine ads all promise you that if you use their product(s) you'll lose the most weight in the shortest amount of time.
Let me tell you, these "lose weight fast and easy" schemes don't work.
These weight loss systems may help people drop some pounds, but fast weight loss results are mostly water weight loss, and water weight can be regained just as fast as it's lost.
If you want to be ready to bust out your bathing suit this summer, don't invest in fast fixes.
Here are some of the more typical schemes that have been touting fast weight loss to everyone who wants to look great in their swimsuit.
  1. Spot reducing - There is no such thing as spot reducing.
    Our bodies are smarter than we think, if we want to lose weight in our thighs, by just working your thighs you won't lose the weight there and only there.
    You can't attach something to your belly to lose belly fat.
    Sorry folks any exercise program or product that tells you their product can do that is not being truthful with you.
  2. Fad diets - Sticking with eating just one food or doing a cleanse isn't nutritionally sound and can make you sick.
    Any diet that asks you to cut calories to a dangerous level less than 1200 calories/day is starvation.
    When your body goes into "starvation mode," it holds onto fat, not knowing when the next meal will come.
    That can sabotage all of your efforts weight loss efforts.
    I know it sounds counter intuitive but you need to eat to fuel your weight loss.
  3. Liquid nutrition - These diets are popular because they are widely available, inexpensive and effective with initial weight loss, which is typically water weight.
    Liquid diets tend to over use lean muscle and slow your metabolism, thus, making it even more difficult for weight loss to be maintained post diet.
    Eventually, liquid diets can lead to the development of muscle cramps, anemia, dizziness, menstrual abnormality, and constipation.
    Substituting healthy meals with shakes will not help you lose weight and it may cause you to overeat because you will remain hungry because you won't feel satiated Healthy eating habits will provide your body with the vitamins and minerals you need without added calories.

If you exercise and eat healthy, you'll achieve your goal in time for bathing suit season.
All the magic potions and weight loss schemes in the world won't get you where you want to go any faster.
Those fast fixes are not really fixes at all when you inevitably end up in worse condition than you started in.
